Default Horrifying shutter shock examples

Note that in its most benign state, it doesn't produce a blur so much
as a drab-looking image caused by minor blur. The electronic shutters
have their own problems (patterning on images, etc) but they do help
with shock.

E-shutters are very useful when you need slealthy silence, or when you
need high shutter speed to get a shallow DoF when an ND filter isn't
handy. This article is another example of when an E-shutter is needed
to minimize blur due to mechanical shutter shock. All very useful.
However, one must be aware of what can happen if there is some form of
rotational motion such as helicopter rotor blades, spinning propellers,
or rolling automobile wheels. Sometimes any motion in the scene can be
problematic regardless of high E-shutter speed, resulting in some
bizarre distortions.
As always there is a time and place for everything.
