The flower dominates that picture too much, especially since the baby isn't
really looking at it. The only thing that ties the baby to the flower (other
than geographical proximity) is the color of the dots on her hat, which, BTW,
are out of focus.

Don't even think about starting a competition for granddaughter pictures in
this newsgroup. Many of us have granddaughters (I have three), and I assure
you that we can match you picture for picture. There's not enough bandwidth on
the Internet to keep that going for very long.

and you can determine that the baby wasn't looking at the flower?

I'm not trying to win or prove anything. I just snapped this today and felt
like sharing it. You wanna go back to bed for a little while ;-)

I'll call your granddaughters and raise you two grandsons. Bright,
cute, *and* photogenic.

Nice.

And well considered background too (if I remember correctly).

chuckle! I also have two grandsons. Alas, my son isn't keen on having
pictures of his son and daughter posted. My daughter, a better child
photographer with her P&S than I am with my 400D and five lenses, has a Web
site for her three. ;^)

The only excuse for posting pictures on this site is to have them criticized.
Read the charter if you doubt that. As Harry Truman was fond of saying, "If
you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Your picture is technically excellent. I'd be insulting your intelligence to
say otherwise. As for the composition, stare at it for five minutes and then
try to tell me you couldn't have done better.

Bob
