Yeah, I was wondering that too. Hence my stating 'new' cameras.
Obviously older DSLRs with lower MP, but decent zoom and hot shoe flash
would be ideal for the job.

I've heard rumours about some venues banning cell phones now. I'm
thinking, "a crummy, grainy, blurry lo-res image of some rock band on
it's last leg? Give it a rest, gents."

Yes, it's making up rules for the sake of having them.

We heard the usual warning about copyright. What I found interesting

Think about that statement for a moment.

Kibo informs me that Jer stated that:

That makes sense. Most new Digital cameras under 5mp aren't going to be
capable of taking any decent photos of the stage at a concert anyway.

And so all legal points of ingress will be attended by staff with this
vast knowledge of all digital photo equipment? I think not.

Just make sure you throw a copy of the brochure in your camera bag
before you leave home.

When I photographed them back in 1977 just as they were hitting it big,
I used a Hasselblad. That was after I smoked dope with them backstage
beforehand. Ahhhh...those were the days...

Better believe it. I've been shooting concerts for 27 years. It wasn't
until about 1990 that ridiculous photo restrictions started to creep
in. Now it's so bad that there are some performers I won't even bother
to shoot anymore. Wish you could see some of the waivers I've had to
sign just to shoot the first 30 seconds of one song by some of these
prima donnas. Talk about control freaks. Not worth the hassle anymore.

If you're interested in making stunning 4x6's, yes.

They shouldn't be smoking dope before a concert! That's what coke is for!

Ann is the porker now. But the years have taken their toll on both.
