[ZLR] Nikon Coolpix 8800 with VR built in
While we're all delighted with the D2x and that will generate a lot of food for thought (or fodder for ...)..another Nikon announcement is quite intriguing: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0409/04...ikoncp8800.asp 10X optical zoom (35-350 in 35mm equivlent) built in VR (optical Vibration Reduction) (okay somebody has to react to K-M and Panasonic). Downsides: ISO 400 max 2/3" sensor (6.6 x 8.8 mm). $999 Cheers, Alan -- -- rec.photo.equipment.35mm user resource: -- http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch.-- |

This might be time for me to upgrade from my 5700. -- Bill |

If it had a f/3.5 or f/4 lens perhaps it might be more interesting. Its a shame, because I like a lot of other features that they have that Panasonic doesn't have. -- Michael Meissner email: http://www.the-meissners.org |
