Why is Banding always a problem on inkjet printers.
Most of the time it does not show up bad but its there, and even changing
out inks and doing a deep clean it still shows up, I was going to get a new
Canon 9900 but the banding problem can crop up in these at a later time, and
the life time of the prints are in question.. Should I bite the bullet and
stay with Ink Jets or go Dye Sup only.

Banding is a problem. The problem can be aggravated by using third
party inks or paper. I have never seen a problem with banding showing up
after the print was made, but I guess it might under some conditions.

While I can't really say, it appears the advantages of Sublime have been
lost to current technology inkjet.

You may want to consider having professional prints made and only use
the inkjet for quick stuff.

there is no banding at all on my HP940C - maybe I'm lucky? I have a photo I
printed right here in my hand and nope - no banding at all...

I don't have banding problems with my Canon 9000, unless I screw it up...
