Canon finally makes an *f4* 70-200 IS...

Now that would be a nice lens to have!! I have the Canon rangefinder 50 mm f/.95. As expected for a lens of its 1960s vintage it is somewhat soft wide open and vignettes badly. But it in fact works just fine for candid shots. "Somewhat" soft? That lens was a notorious dog! Nothing to do with 60's vintage - many of whose better lenses are still first rate today. Canon trying to impress with a pointless high-tech exercise - what else is new? |
