Explains why Leica refuses to ramp up production on flagship products,
as opposed to the Lumix stuff they rebrand.

Made in Japan used to be a sign of junk, Things can change.

Just because somebody wrote a book, doesn't make the statement a fact.

Every word there is a truth, to be taken literally. If you don't believe
me, it says so right in the Bible.

I've got my Bible right here in this sack of rattlesnakes. Reach in

Right. It is risky to generalize about manufacturing in China. The situation
there is very complicated and involves all sorts of issues with factory
ownership (Chinese or foreign), subcontracting, phantom factories, regional
as well as national politics, corruption, health care, worker safety,
litigation, rising labor influence, etc. What is so today may not be so
tomorrow.

I'm reading "The China Price" by Alexandra Harney. Fascinating and strong
stuff, though it is probably already out of date.

In 1967, Japan enacted a law that forbade Japanese companies from
exporting trash, it could only be sold in internally. This was to develop
export markets. China has no such prohibitions and the only reason any of
what they've done (to their own people for who knows how long) in-terms
of exporting garbage is because the West didn't like consuming plastic
filled with lead, or milk filled with melamine.

There's a logical piece missing.
What is the connection between your statement and mine.

Yes I like hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
