I'd actually made the same observation myself - I see lots of Canons in the wild, a fair number of Pentaxes, a small number of Nikons, and hardly ever see anything else (Sony/Minolta, Olympus etc). According to sales figures, Nikon and Canon are fairly even and between them they make up something like 95% of the market. Despite that, I seem to see more Pentax in the wild than Nikon. Maybe all those Nikons are kept snug and safe in studios. |

Maybe all those Nikons are kept snug and safe in studios. Some recent figures put Nikon and Canon at a combined 82% of the market. In the wild I see a lot of them, but I also see the odd Pentax and a fair number of Maxxum's and not too few Sony alphas. I have not seen many Oly's at all. -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- r.p.d.slr-systems: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpdslrsysur.htm -- [SI] gallery & rulz: http://www.pbase.com/shootin -- e-meil: Remove FreeLunch. -- usenet posts from gmail.com and googlemail.com are filtered out. |

The hassy is a green lemon - environementally friendly lemon? There must be something significant about an apple... When I looked at the image afterwards, I wondered if anyone would make any such comparisons. The Hasselblad is a fantastic, if simple, camera; it's what all MF cameras want to be at minimum. It is the simple daily fruit. The apple. The Maxxum 9 is a fantastic camera; it's what any Hasselblad really wants to be if it could be done in MF. It is the lime: A staple in the kitchen of the well prepared cook and photographer. The Maxxum 7D is 'darned good' but has a variety of nits including a somewhat slow shutter release. For that it is (mildly) a lemon. -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- r.p.d.slr-systems: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpdslrsysur.htm -- [SI] gallery & rulz: http://www.pbase.com/shootin -- e-meil: Remove FreeLunch. -- usenet posts from gmail.com and googlemail.com are filtered out. |
