Need advice HP 945 vs Olympus C765

Hi everyone. I'm planning to replace my old mavica FD7 with one of these two
cameras. Any pro cons about these cameras? I plan to spend about 300-400
euro, and i wish one with good zoom. Is any other model in this money range
better than these two? Any suggestion will be really appreciated.

PS There's something i can do with the old mavica (diskette, 10x Opti Zoom),
any kind of "upgrade" or hack to improve the camera?

HP945 is a really nice camera. Go to HP945.com to read about it and see images.
I have one and I like it. It won a DIMA 2004. If you get one keep that LCD
protector on and don't remove it. Or you can put an LCD protector on if you use
palmone universal lcd protector.

I'm not familiar with the Olympus camera but my impression of Olympus as a
brand is very very good.

Other cameras to consider are the Minolta zoom ones, such as the z-series.
