Flash Question for the Canon Powershot G6
I bought my wife this camera because she wanted a point and shoot
digital camera of high quality. We have had it only a short time and it fills the billand takes great pictures. My question from other users of this camera is do they really use an external flash or just use the built in one. My reason for asking is I would use one only because I don't like onboard flash except for when used as fill flash. However, she uses it as a point and shoot and an external flash would seem large on this camera. But it if really helps I'll get her one. If you use an external flash which one do you use? Thanks. I used a 380EX on a G3. They're discontinued, which I think is unfortunate, because they're not as huge as the 420 or 540. You can still find them on eBay. No matter what, it's going to look like a flash unit with a small camera hanging off the bottom. It'll also be top-heavy when you try to set it down. The only downside is, the G's don't use the flash's infrared to aid in autofocus. This is just a huge design lapse, IMHO, because the G is the one camera that needs all the help it can get in the autofocus department. Thanks. Art Salmons |

Even the digital kiosks have red eye removal tabs which work much better than the desaturation tool in photoshop. |
