I wasn't of any limitation on the ability to load the D70s firmware
into the D70. Which ones couldn't do it?

you read that wrong (again).

I read what you wrote. You didn't write quite what you meant.

what i wrote was perfectly clear.

admit your error and move on.

a d70 can be updated to *some* of the d70s specs, not all. the hardware
differences cannot be updated via firmware.

I had to take my modem apart before I could get the larger rear screen
through it.

as usual, arguing just to argue.

except that one makes no sense whatsoever and the other makes perfect
sense.

analyzing the text also gives a clue which is correct. you said "a d70
[singular] can be updated to d70s specs [plural]". i responded with
"not all of them [plural]". plural maps to plural.

I was going to spell it out but when you get to that level of crap I'm
happy to leave you to it.

a 0.2" larger lcd display is the least significant of the changes, as
it offers no additional functionality. it's nice that the new one is a
little bigger but it won't prevent anything with a smaller one.

a wider angle flash and a wired remote are functional improvements.
there are situations where you would not otherwise be able to take a
good photo without them.

true, but for the average user these were not significant
improvements. The circumstances where they were a significant
improvement are what you love calling 'edge cases'.

they're more significant than 0.2" more on an lcd, which is barely even
noticeable.
