Default Christmas Under the Tree

I took these around xmas and I'm finally getting to them. They aren't great
but they were a lot of fun to take.

Fun to look at, too.

These pix were fun to look through. I see the focal length used, but, could
you tell us which lens you used for these shots?

I used 3 lenses.

Primary lens used
EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 USM II

Other lenses used
EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...169267&is=GREY

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=351554&is=USA

I set the camera on a mini tripod that was included as a part of my wife's
Rebel 2000 kit 3 years ago. It was the first time the tripod was used since
it the camera was bought. ;-) I also turned on the mirror lockup (hack
firmware) and used a shutter release cable.

The only light in the room was the lights from the houses and the tree w/
the camera set, for the most part, to auto white balance . This gave the
original images the yellow tint you'd expect from those types of lights. I
adjusted the white balance in Capture One. Frankly, I liked both the yellow
tint and adjusted photos but mostly posted the adjusted ones.

Here is an example of one w/o white balance adjustments.

I think it give more of the night time illusion. I may go back into C1 and
bring back some of the yellow.

One thing I did learn while working on these photos was to examine you
subject mater closely for things you might not want in you final product.
Notice the dog hair that is wrapped around the 3 kids and snowman. :-/

In any event, I'm glad you enjoyed the shots.

Thanks,
