Canon 300D Mark II Announcement

I almost hate to ask, but I take it that you're saying that Sigma has a line of lenses are designed specifically for digital photography? I'm not trying to stir up any controversy, and I'm not contemplating purchasing new equipment. I'm just curious since I'm unfamiliar with their equipment. Sigma does have several lenses, designated "DC" and "DG", I believe, that are designed for digital use. They're pretty dire on film cameras, though, since the edge resolution is pretty much ignored. And, according to Sigma's website, the DC lenses cannot be used on cameras with sensors larger than APS-C or with film cameras, since vignetting will occur. -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com |

They're not designed for digital photography, rather they're designed for smaller sensors - primarily 1.5x to 1.7x crop sensors. But GP is full of **** about EOS lenses not working well with EOS digital bodies. Actually, he's full of **** on any topic. Mark |
