Canon 300D - focus problems
Hi folks,
I am thinking about to buy the Canon 300D but now I read in a german journal that most digital SLRs have problems in getting the correct focus. The focus is (depending on the used lense) more in the back or more in the front of the object that has been targetted. Who understands german: http://www.colorfoto.de/d/52641 They say, that reasons for these problems are - bad justified AF sensors - cover glass of CCD/CMOS sensor affects optical behaviour (affects path of the light rays) - digital cameras are more sensitive on inaccurate focus - ... My question: What are your experiences with focusing problems using digital SLR cameras, especially with the Canon 300D? Greetings, Martin. |

My question: What are your experiences with focusing problems using digital SLR cameras, especially with the Canon 300D? I've found the focus on this camera to be very predictable. Far more so than any of the cameras in the prosumer point/shoot market which don't have the through the lens reassurance of something like the 300D/Rebel. One of the reasons I pulled the trigger on the 300D as an upgrade over my G2 was for focus predictability and I was not disappointed. Best Regards, -- Todd H. http://www.toddh.net/ |

Some I know say that AF stands for "Approximate Focus." They often depend on depth of field to cover any focus errors. -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com |
