Linhof Tech. 70 and/or Tech. IV differences
Hello,
Unfortunately, cannot found any complete info about Linhod Technika 70 view camera. Is it different from Super Tech. 23 (with rangefinder)? What camera (from these two) allows more movements with wide-angle lens ? What camera is lighter ? What lensboard used on Tech. 70 ? Is it regular Linhof (compatible with current Tech 2x3 or 4x5) or something different ? I'm considering to buy one of these. Unfortunately, I should use KEH or eBay, so I need to choose between these cameras without actually seeing them. -- Alex Tutubalin |

Yes it has a built-in viewfinder with frames for 3 lenses and an exposure meter What camera (from these two) allows more movements with wide-angle lens ? The Super Technika V, 23b will allow the most lens rise otherwise the Super Technika V 23 and the Technika 70 have the same movements. What camera is lighter ? The Super Technika V 23b What lensboard used on Tech. 70 ? Is it regular They use, for the most part, the same board. In a few cases the Technika 70 has a special board. The 70 boards are out of production for several years. Linhof (compatible with current Tech 2x3 or 4x5) or something different ? I'm considering to buy one of these. If I'm not mistaken, theTech 70 is basically a horizontal camera. No
revolving back. The viewfinder is fixed - horizontal. The Super Tech 23 appears to be much more versatile. "Alex Tutubalin" wrote in message ... Bob,
thanks for info. I've another set of questions What camera (from these two) allows more movements with wide-angle lens ? The Super Technika V, 23b will allow the most lens rise otherwise the Super Technika V 23 and the Technika 70 have the same movements. What the widest wide-angle lens can be mount to Tech 70/Super Vb/Super ? Is it possible to mount Super-Angulon 47mm to some/any of these cameras. Is movements (esp. tilt) possible with 47-mm lens ? Do I need recessed lens board for so short focal length ? Is it possible to mount shorter lens ? On my 35-mm cameras I (rarely) use 16-mm focal length, I would like to repeat same field of view on (coming) field-MF. What camera is lighter ? The Super Technika V 23b AFAIK, V 23b is new (current?) model. I can afford only used ones, so Tech 70, or Super Tech. V (old versions). -- Alex Tutubalin |

I've read, that RF need to be tuned for lens. I guess, it is not possible here (Moscow, Russia), so ground-glass focusing will be enough. Also, I'm planning to hike with this camera, so less weight is most important feature (each 200-300 gramms is very sensitive in mountains). As for which camera that is up to you. Both are good. I want to be able to install wide-angle lens and have some (limited movements). Is it possible to install 47-mm to either (old) Tech V or Tech 70 ? -- Alex Tutubalin |
