I've only just started processing some 1200 shots from a river cruise
and these are the ones with which I was only just starting to come to
grips with the camera. These three shots were made in the Maritime
Museum in Amsterdam. All objects were within dimly lit glass cabinets:

Hi,

Nice images. The last one, the lion's head, looks quite similar to one
that I took many years ago in Stockholm. The sailing warship Vasa had
been found and raised, and was housed in a waterproof quonset hut while
being sprayed with ethylene glycol to prevent the fragile wood from
falling apart after several hundred years under water. I wonder if that
was a naval symbol, or just a symbol of courage and strength.

Do you mean the Lion as shown in
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbxqiodbjTI ?

My pictures include the original lion's head on the raised ship, not
this modern copy. Then there is always Bert Lahr
in The Wizard of Oz.

(Unfortunately, since my recent move from a large home to an apartment,
many of my old color slides are in a storage facility.)

Not bad. Have you tried pushing the ISO to 50k?

The results of this shot intrigued me.

While we we there, there was an exhibition of 'Light' in Budapest.
There was one room containing three-dimensional UV-fluorescent
spaghetti and walls very dimly iluminated by projectors. The lighting
of the walls was at the lower threshold of color vision and most
people found it impossible to determine exactly what colors were
present.

I took this shot (all LR has done to it is to size it and convert it
to JPG) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...R--7501432.jpg
at ISO1250, f/2.8 and what turned out to be 1/2 sec hand held. My main
objective was to try and read whatever letters were projected on the
wall. Instead I was amazed to see colors which previously I had no
idea were there. The staff of the exhibition were equally amazed.

The articulating viewfinder has me excited.

I used it to take some sneaky shots.

The subject had no idea that I had photographed him and later told me
he was glad I hadn't. (Not like the guys in Amsterdam who earlier had
bombarded me with beer coasters :-).

I like photographs that make you think twice. My first impression is
that this is nice street shot. My second impression was that he is
balancing a long and heavy pipe on his hand.

I found him an interesting character. He obviously was not on the
breadline but, in his attitude to life, he was 'different' - probably
interesting.

Then there was this guy:
