Microsoft couldn't afford a 126 meg CCD
So they built a camera with 13 small CCDs in it. They said that costs
to produce (not that it was impossible) a 126meg CCD were prohibitive. The camera is called the Ultracam made by a company called, Vexcel and will be used by Microsoft's Virtual Earth mapping business unit. http://www.vexcel.com/products/photo...amx/index.html |

Possibly that Microsoft is so rich that it shouldn't make sensible business decisions? |
