Default CAMERA WON'T CLOSE

Great suggestion about the battery. Kind of like calling a service
man for the TV and discovering it was unplugged. Sometime the
simplest item can cause a major problem.

Thanks for all your input. And I will keep my compressed air handy.

It may also be that the battery recovered somewhat while you waited.
Suggest recharging it before further use, and next time you do a
transfer, either use a card reader, or make sure the battery is fully
charged before you start a transfer.

If by "compressed air", you mean the cans of stuff, be very
careful where you use it and how you hold the can -- the "blast
of gas" can work well used properly, but if you hold the can wrong
and spray the liquid before it has boiled to a gas onto the sensor
or other critical area, you can totally destroy the camera.

Use one with CO2, which has no liquid state at normal
temperature/pressures.

True, but misleading -- at room temp/press, CO2 is indeed a gas,
HOWEVER, under pressure in the can (or cartridge), it is a liquid.
Ever noticed the "snow" from a CO2 fire extinguisher ?? Holding
a can of the stuff the wrong way will spray either liquid CO2
(until it boils off and freezes everything) or the "snow" that is
small chunks of "dry ice" (frozen CO2) which is also not good.
ALL of the cans of "liquid that converts to a gas to blow stuff"
have the potential if held wrong to spray either the liquid or the
ice version of it on something. Bad news if done wrong.

This is weird and I don't know where to start.

I have an Olympus Camedia c-60. I just finished importing the pictures
to my PC and now it won't close. It won't take pictures, either. It
lights up, but when I try to close it, the little motor whirrs but the
lens won't retract and close.

I do get a blue screen on the camera, though, and this message:

D:

34FF
1E11
1E1A

Has it had a knock?

Have you tried Googling the name of the camera plus one or more of those
codes?

R.
