Canon AE-1 Rewind release button jammed?

Hi,

I am in need of advice or information, my old trusty Canon AE-1 is out
of action because the rewind release button stuck, before that
happened a couple of rolls of film were ripped because the release
button was obviously not operating properly,
anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I asked a repair
centre, but they won't look at it as it is old and parts are no longer
available.
