Neither do I, which is why I uncheck them in the import dialog. I still
want them in the folder they are currently in, though.

certainly tell Lightroom to ignore the files, but that's not the
problem, the problem is that after having listed a directory or
memory card *with* movie files, Lightroom can not import any
files, regardless of checkboxes marked.


I'd copy the movies to another place, delete them, and then import.


Pretty contrived workaround for a stupid bug in Lightroom. I think it would
be better of Lightroom could handle importing photos from folders with
movies in them instead.

It'd be better to have free frijoles and ale, but that ain't happening.
Acceptance of the world as it is is key.
