Default Odd Bad Photos

I was taking pictures with my new Lumix ZS80, and noticed some odd quality issues. Mostly all
standard camera settings with stabilization on, and the dial set for "P" (programmed
automatic).

Three examples are posted he

https://postimg.cc/gallery/2iaj7wftu/

In P1000173-2, there is what appears to be motion-blur. At first glance, it seems to be
consistent throughout the photo, but when scrutinizing the lower left, it seems to be normal.
Especially looking at the nail sticking out of the board.

In P1000174-2, it's more obvious that the left side of the frame looks ok, but the right side
is seriously "double-imaged".

P1000175-2 was taken after I had noticed the issues in the first two, and was very careful to
hold the camera steady, and the result looks fine.

I never noticed this problem with my 10-year-old Lumix ZS3.

The problem being inconsistent across individual photos is especially unsettling to me. If it
were a film camera with a focal plane shutter, I'd chalk it up to poor technique.

Comments appreciated.

Croy,

I've seen effects like this when the HDR was switched on, and the camera
was not sufficiently stable between the differently exposed images.
Check the HDR setting.

Thanks for the reply.

HDR (High Dynamic Range?--the manual refers to it, and explains how it works, but never spells
out what "HDR" stands for!) is off, at least in "P" mode (and it won't let me turn it on in
that mode).

In the manual, it "seems" to me to be indicating that it *can* be turned on in "P" mode, but
there are a number of exceptions that I haven't tracked down yet.

I'll have to keep experimenting, reading, and poking, probably still not understand half of
what this camera can do!

All are quite short exposures, sot with exposure bracketing. You might
try turning that off.

Yes, I have seen this with my D750. It's the first thing I thought of also.

I inadvertently activated the pixel shift function on my Pentax the
other day with simillar results, so anything that takes multiple shots
can do it I suppose.
