A bit of motion blur in the head, but the light was right:

Also the camera went from an air-conditioned house to warm outdoors
without acclimating so that may be the cause of some loss of
definition.

Even so, well done! Red kites are starting to move back into our area,
havn't had a camera to hand yet, but will certainly be having a go.

Hi Newshound it would be good to know where your area is!

South Gloucestershire in the UK. When I was a lad, you had to go to
Germany to see them (there might have been a few in Scotland). I think
they were introduced into North and/or West Wales, and also into the
Chiltern Hills west of London. The Welsh population has been moving
eastwards for some time, while the Chiltern population spread west. I'm
not sure if they have actually met up in the middle now.

Many thanks N, not much chance of them here in the
West Midlands then, at least not for a while. I can remember an Uncle
getting very excited having seen Buzzards in Devon. Now several years
later they are a common site here.

You may not have to wait too long. As you say, Buzzards are now common
over southern England and I think they have similar habitats and feeding
habits.
