Default Lens-sensor Resolution Calculations Made Easy

Pete wrote:

I took the Bayer CFA into account, as was done in my references. Also of
interest was a measured value from a 10 MP Canon showing it needed 2.72
pixels to resolve a line pair - a multiplying factor of 1.36, which implies
it requires 15 MP to resolve 8 MP, as you suggested.

Which fits in quite well with the 'distance of green pixels
to their nearest green neighbour' == SQRT(2) ~= 1.4 pixels,
indicating that green pixels carry most of the resolving power.
