OPEN CALL FOR DIGITAL ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY LOS ANGELES CENTER FOR DIGITAL ART SNAP TO GRID: the UN-Juried competition Registration: WWW.LACDA.COM LACDA announces an open call for our UN-juried show featuring digital art and photography: "Snap to Grid". All entries will be printed (8.5"x11" on epson heavyweight matte paper) and shown in our gallery arranged in a grid. Entrants submit one JPEG file of original work. All styles of 2D artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. Digital video stills and screen shots of web/new media are acceptable. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists. Prior to and after the exhibition the images and artist information will be available to gallery visitors to view in our artist portfolios. Prints can be made available to buyers on an as needed basis. Artwork for future exhibits will be selected from the portfolios, and will also be available for review by area gallerists, curators and arts journalists. Location: This call is international, open to all geographical locations. Show Dates: September 9-October 1, 2004 Deadline for entries: September 5, 2004 Entry Fee: Registration fee is $30US. Submission Rules: Registration and submission are done through our web site only. File uploads are the only accepted submissions maximum of 2MB each. Please do not send materials to LACDA. All materials sent to LACDA will not be viewed and cannot be returned. Multiple entries are permitted. Limit of 3 entries per person. $30 registration fee for each additional image. Seperate registration required for each image. Images must be under two megabites in size and not to exceed 1024x768 pixels in dimension. Sales of Artwork: Submissions will be included in our artists portfolio and will be offered for sale. Price and type of print to be determined when interest is shown by buyer in works by artist. Gallery retains 50% of all sales. Winners retain ownership of all intellectual property rights to their artwork and prints are made by permission only. Gallery Information: Los Angeles Center For Digital Art is dedicated to the propagation of all forms of digital art, supporting local, international, emerging and established artists. We have an ongoing schedule of exhibits and competitions, produce editions of wide format archival prints, and provide low cost education for individuals interested in learning software programs utilized for art and design. Yeah, the entry fee seems a bit steep, most jurored shows I've entered have
a fee of $10 per entry, or some a flat $25 for 3.
