AVI software for my Canon A80

I take lots of AVI movie clips of my new grandson and need some software to
delete bad frames. these almost always happen at the beginning or end of
the clips. Does anyone know the proper software I could get to delete the
bad frames?

The Canon A80 makes movies that can be (must be?) viewed with Apple
QuickTime. My best guess would be that the movies would best be edited
with Apple QuickTime.
iMovie ??
