Newbie photo contest question

Hi,

I'm thinking about entering a photo magazine contest for the first
time. It says to either send a print, or a CD with printout.

What do they mean by the printout part with the CD ? If it's just a
print, then what's the point of sending the CD ?

They may want to be able to identify the name of the image file on
the CD without having to put the CD in a computer's CD drive. The
secretaries that process incoming mail may not always have a
computer to work with. If it's only a small number of files,
supply a printout, or neatly write the name(s) of the file(s) on an
accompanying sheet of paper. You may also want to write your name
and the name of the files on the CD with a fine-tipped felt marker.
