Around 50 years ago they started saying that Rock 'n' Roll was dead.

In the last few years there have been increasingly more CD compilations (even more recently some DVDs) and specialist dealers, more guitar music books and DVD tutors and more "tribute bands" than would ever have been believed in a fictional book written in, say, the 1960s.

Kodak and Fuji (see http://choose-film.com/) and Ilford continue to bring out more new films. I have hundreds cassettes of one of the defunct films (and one of the very best), Konica Minolta Centuria Chrome 100 in my freezer and expect it to have kept me supplied for in excess of five years of very active photography.

Leaving you with that thought, I'm of to play my Strat (1954 50 year Aniversary Edition).

Before I go, I've seen increasingly frequent reports of people who have tried digital, found it too much hassle, and gone back to film.

Who exactly was saying that and in what context?

Yes, they've brought a few new films out. More? And you believe it
will be increasing, do you? Just like overall film sales?

??? Konica did make some nice films - I miss Impresa 50 almost as much
as KChrome25, but I've not heard anyone lament the loss of *that* one
before.... What did/do you like about it?

Increasingly frequent? Cites? Compared to how many who have now
completely dropped film?

I think all we have seen here is that a film enthusiast believes the
plural of 'anecdote' is 'fact'.

Don't get me wrong, I still use film, but I don't think this helps the
cause..

Don't expect this mob of imbeciles to understand the
difference between "started saying" and "said"...

I'll raise you a Maton "Australian" EA80C,
60 Year Celebration special, number 56 in
a series of 60.

The ones who joined apug in the last
5 months have almost exclusively been
in that category.

Yes, they've brought a few new films out.

I'll bet it must hurt to admit that one, eh?

More?

Yes. Kodak just released a new one less than two
months ago.

And you believe it
will be increasing, do you?

Apparently, two new films in less than a year
is an increase. Can you cite back in the 80s
any instance of that happening?
It's only you and other blindfolded geniuses
that can't cope with simple facts.

Just like overall film sales?

who the heck CARES about film sales?
We're talking about USING film.
Got it?

Go to apug and count new members.
Go he http://www.flickr.com/groups/ishootfilm/pool/
and count the members. That's just two short
examples, heaps more.

For someone who ignores facts you don't want much,
do you? How about oggling at this:
http://www.photoness.de/yodo_analog/
And that is just one store of a huge chain.
Pure "anecdote", no doubt?
Of course!...

Don't get me wrong, I still use film, but I don't think this helps the
cause..

Yeah, sure...

Missed by a year, February 3, 1959 was the day the music died.

Really, around 1958 "they" were saying that Rock & Roll was dead. I
guess I did not get the measage
because that was not what I was hearing in 1958. I don't remember
anyone saying that Rock adn Roll was dead 50 years ago.
