Default 60 Mpix - H4D (Hasselblad)

Why is this good news?

'cause maybe more pros will move up market and eventually (one day) I'll
be able to get a 20 - 30 Mpix back for my good ole 500 C/M....

Basic 22 meg backs are about $4000 used. Not too much, considering
their original cost.
Some need $1000 adapters to use, depending on what camera body you
have.

Yup, couple more years, or so, and they'll be downright reasonable.

Probably not full frame, though.

Hi Alan!
Very good news indeed... at a very reasonable pricing, $ 42,433.78 USD for
the H4D-60 and a greater bargain for the H4D-50 at $29, 262.40 ;-))))
(the pennies are a result of changing the Euros into USD dollars). Now in
Canadian dollars, this translates in less of a bargain for either models: $
45,608.12 CAD and $ 31, 451.44 CAD respectively. Clearly not a camera for
news journalism.
Best regards,
Marcel

This one doesn't say if it's full frame so I guess not?

Hasselblad's have rarely had much use for journalism. These are
commercial workhorses.

Not sure, the H2/3 series cameras come in a variety of sizes, only 2
(IIRC) that are full frame (645). Otherwise sizes of about 36 x 48 (or
so are the "low end").

I know Alan,
I was jesting ;-)
Back in the early 60's, I became acquainted with that camera through a
friend photographer who was dedicated to portrait taking and was using such
a camera. I remember how large the negs were, but I had to be content with
my Asahi Pentax Spotmatic ;-)
Take care,
Marcel
