Hello, my name is David and I'm a university student from Melbourne,
Australia.

I have created a non-commercial 'show and tell' site called 'A
Picture's Worth' at http://1000words.net Basically, it invites
visitors to share the story behind a special photograph in 300+ words.
A new submission is shown every day.

The site has been going fairly well since its launch in August 2003
but constantly seeks help from contributors. If you're interested in
having a go at sharing what is triggered from a personal photograph,
such as the memories, emotions or creative stories, I would love to
hear from you at http://1000words.net

'A Picture's Worth' remains small at the moment so it would be
fantastic if you could help spread the word by letting your friends
and family know about the site.

before deciding whether you're interested in making a submission or

There is no payment in return for a submission as it is a user-driven
non-commercial site. However, the author does retain all copyright
over their works. Basically, there is no money coming in for any money
to come out since the site has no advertisements whatsoever.

In which case, I think I'll save my first rights for a place that will
pay me for them. Posting work on an internet site is considered by
many publications as "previously published" and if they only want
first publication rights, that's lost when you post on the internet.
