Default trashed backup cds

Hello

I made a backup of some pictures in March 2001. At the time, the data was
verified and the disk checked to make sure that the images were there.

Now, just over three years later, there are numerous bad blocks. The system
hangs trying to read the disk and fills up the system event log. I can't get
any of the images from the disk.

Does anyone has any ideas on what I can do to get as much information from
the disk as possible (preferably all)?

Any ideas why a disk that was fine 3 years ago is now worse than not making
a back up at all?

Cheers
Callum

Try cleaning your drive. Or, try the CD's in another drive.

They aren't as archival as we had been led to believe.

The quality of CDs has come crashing down due to the price wars of the past
few years. I moved my archives to hard disc long ago.
