Canon has issued a firmware update for the Mk II that addresses the
black dot issue.

For those that own the model in question, they'll find out when they
install it.
For those that seem not to like Canon and those of us who don't own one,
who cares.

In the same way that Nikon's firmware update "addressed" the d300's
battery problem.
