Default Newbie Camcorder Questions

Hi,

I'm a real novice with these things, but figured that someone here might
be good enough to help me out; would be most appreciative.

Wish to buy a Camcorder as a gift.

Thinking of the (new) JVC Envireo GZHM-450AUS for around $330

Any opinions on ?
For around that price, any that you feel I should also consider, instead
of, perhaps ?

And, I guess it connects to one's TV for viewing via an HDMI cable.
The gift recipient's TV is new, HD, but has no card slots.
Other than the HDMI cable, is there any other way of connecting the
camcorder to the TV ?

e.g., some kind of wireless/Router hookup, or... ?

And, if one records at the highest density format that the unit allows
(I think 1080 ?), about how many GB per (e.g.) minute does it use ?

Wondering about also getting them an extra flash drive, and was
wondering how big ? Or, perhaps a dedicated 1 or 2 TB HD.

Much Thanks,
Bob
