ultracompact or subcompact?
I'm looking to get a new digital camera and was seriously considering the canon sd550. then i got nervous that i would want more. i have a nikon 8800 that I love because I can zoom and it's relatively fast, enough for me to catch my 2 yr old son and my dog playing, and it's while it' s no dslr it does really well for me. I know I need a small camera for outings and I know I'd do well with the canon 550 but I do miss the zoom ability on these tiny things. is it worth giving up so i have a tiny camera? would it be redundant to get a subcompact camera like the canon g6? thanks for any input. -- cadmon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ View this thread: http://www.photographytalk.net/viewtopic-167172.html Send from http://www.photographytalk.net |

ultracompact or subcompact?
I recently purchased the Casio EXZ750 to have a true teeny pocket camera to
supplement my collection of much larger film and digital cameras, mostly SLRS and one EVF. To my mind the 8800 is kind of a small camera to begin with although certainly not pocketable. These things are great fun and the image quality is generally not too bad but not what you may be used to. I got the Casio based on reviews comparing it to the Canon and because of its tiny size and great LCD screen. It also is supposed to be very good for video, although this does not interest me much. If the new toy value alone cannot justify the purchase price you may need to rethink your motivations . . . |
