Default CF vs CF II

Why do some say 12x and some say 22x

"Jeff Durham" wrote in message ...
It is a form factor (size) issue rather than speed.

Are there diffrent speed of CF or something?

The difference between type I and type II is the thickness with type II
being thicker. Most devices that accept type II should be able to use

type
I. I think the microdrives have the same thickness as type II.

The 12x and 22x have nothing to do with the form factor (type I or type II).
The "X" is an indication of speed, but I am not sure "times what" as the
baseline. Here is a website that compares the different flash cards and how
they perform in various cameras. That is what you really need to know.

I purchased the Transcend 40x 1GB card for my Canon 300D. It was almost as
fast as the Sandisk cards, less expensive, and in stock.

I know that is what it is for CD-Rs; I didn't know it was the same for
CD cards.
I learn something every day, if I'm lucky.
