"A news photographer's camera was destroyed during the recent
demolition of a MIssissippi River bridge, but the camera's Compact
Flash card survived to tell the story." "Frazier figures that the
blast ruined about $15,000 worth of equipment."

Loved seeing that digital camera being blown to bits!

There was a similar story in American Photo a couple years back - the
special 9/11 issue. It showed a Canon digital, destroyed while the photog
carrying it approached the WTC, and was entirely too close to it when it
collapsed. Apprarantly the data still was recoverable from the card. The
photog did not survive though.
