That's a 1:1 crop from a 12.7 megapixel image - difficult to equal with 35mm
film on a tripod, let alone handheld.

Now do feel free to go away and stop talking nonsesne.

What focal length did you shoot that at?

28mm. The request was for 24, but the lens doesn't go that wide.

There's also this thing called mirror lockup. You might want to try it
next time you're shooting handheld with an SLR at low shutter speeds.

Mirror lock up on which SLR? How do you frame your shot when you're
hand-holding an SLR while its mirror is locked up?

Dismissed...

I have thought about this before, and I think there exist rangefinders that
fit on the hot shoe just for framing purposes.....

The mirror bounce, even on an EOS 30, causes too much movement at that speed.

Mirror lockup?

What you have missed is the crux of the matter. There is a school of
thought amongst some of the people who visit this forum, that Canon
is in some way superior to Nikon. Whenever I point out that this is
not true and ask for some form of evidence to support such a notion,
I have the likes of Mark, Brian, Skip and a couple of others
gnashing their teeth about it and pushing forward all sorts of
delightful theories about my intelligence level, twisting words and
meanings and generally being obnoxious.

I have never said that Canon was superior to Nikon, as a system, nor
as individual cameras, either. Nor have I ever twisted anything you
said, Dallas, ever. The only time I've questioned your intelligence
was when you made the comment about the "heft" of the 5D.
I'd like for you to find a quote where I did either of the above.

Dallas continues to attribute sentiments and statements that neither of us
have EVER uttered.
He seems to be fighting our evil twins...?
Why?
-Dunno.

-Some sort of a Don Quixote syndrome, perhaps?

Its called a killfile guys. The only time i see his posts is when either of
you rise to the bait.

Both Canon and Nikon have stabilized zooms that start at 24mm. I'm sure
you could do a handheld 1/8 at 24mm no problem.

Well, go ahead and try it. Show us your results.

I love it when this happens. Poor Dallas. No wait... screw him.
