Do those studies negate the theory that "bumpers are for bumping." Why
do yo think they are called bumpers? ;-)

I am quoting my late wife, who used that expression, when I commented
on her occasionally noisy parking. Gosh I miss her.

I hope that you're able to deal with your grief, Peter.

Thank you.
I am lucky tat both of our kids are understanding, and each is dealing
with it in their own way.
My way is to keep busy with various projects ranging from photography to
a linguistics project. Both give me a reason to get dressed in the
morning. We started dating when she was fifteen. However, even though
she worked in my office, both of us had other interests that we pursued
on our own. I know too many people who would never do anything without
their souse. When one got really sick or passed, the other either went
into a deep depression, or didn't survive more than a few months to a
year. I developed a very close friendship with some of her cousins, and
her best friend was some of my cousins. We all have the belief that she
lives on in our memories.

We have communicated on this when you first suffered your loss. I shared my
thoughts, and similar experience back then. The wound is still too fresh, and
the pain is going to continue to be acute with each litle reminder. It was
ten years in December that my wife died, the memory persists allowing me to
value, and validate the depth of our relationship. At this stage of grief for
you it is important that you accept support from your daughters, and other
family. It is also important to take care of your health so that you can deal
with those inevitable dark moments, they will lessen in frequency as time

Thank you.
While I will not go into detail, the vast majority of my memories of
things I have done with my wife make me smile. In that sense she lives
on in my memories. I am also lucky in that both of my daughters are very
supportive. (They are trying to convince me to move near them, but I
have a lot of friends here.) Even though my daughters' personalities and
interests are very different, They have a lot of friends in common,
including the children of my friends, and are really good friends to
each other.
