Very true.
I reckon that is going to be the Achilles Heel for that line.
Sony is really pushing the envelope with those prices!
3 grand might make it palatable. Just.
4.5? NowayJosay!
Particularly now that the Pacific Peso is running at 0.75 instead of the
1:1 parity of 2 years ago!

That's cheap. It's 5300 Euro (= 5600 USD) here in Germany.

$4500 is cheaper than 5300 Euro but keep in mind that $4500 does not
include tax. Sales tax rates vary from state-to-state and even within
localities within states. In New York City, for example, that camera
will cost $4799 but that's still cheaper than in Germany.

Prices in the US are without VAT and in Europe without and therefore
lower. This is observed and tiresome reoccurring complaints by mostly
Brits follows suit... Just as expected. But here's a German resident
that wants to say: I can file unjustified complaints just as any
Englishman! And indeed you can! The price without the German (19%) VAT
would in your example be some 4536 USD... That makes you a 36 dollar
loser. Congrats to whatever!!! ;-ppp

You have to calculate 5600/1.19 = 4700

No - 5300 Euro is 5600 USD. The 4700 USD is if you take out the 19% VAT.
You calculated the price without VAT incorrectly.
