rumors concerning "super zoom" cameras? (I think 100x optical zoom

It appears, John, that Mr. No-it-all may not have tried using a 2000 mm
IS lens hand-held, e.g. from a moving ship where zooming with the feet
may bring one to a wet and terminal end.
