Default $30 wireless slave on ebay any good?

There are tons radio flash trigger selling for $20 to $40 on ebay. Wireless
slaves used to cost $300 and up, what's the catch here?

Has anyone bought one? I wonder if they work with digital cameras like EOS
20D.

In article GTfTf.1566$Vx4.1072@trnddc06, says...

I bought a Chinese made one from an Ebay seller in New York for GBP14 +
GPB6 postage.

It's identical to this one available direct from China.

Works brilliantly on a 350D with an old Courtenay Solaflash.

I bought one made in China on Ebay. It works fairly well, range isn't
as good as the ad claimed, but adequate for me.

Only problem was that the receiver used a 6 volt mini battery of a
type absolutely totally unobtainable in England. I built the receiver
into another box with a 4 x AA rechargeables and a brighter LED to
indicate on-off via a new switch on the box casing.

Works fine on my D70.

I do carry wires as a backup, though.

These are not Pocket Wizards. They are less solid, has less range,
they can't be remote controlled like PWs - and compatibility may be
an issue if you spread your purchase over time.

There are several types avialable, and some of the models and some
individual units mau have quality issues.

Don't expect to pay $30 and get something compareable to a PW
Multimax.

Still, if you can live with the limitations, they are great
value.

Has anyone bought one?

I've bought one master and five slaves. I am satisfied with mine.
I've put a more detailed review on the web, with some caveats:

They do indeed. And safe trigger voltage too (5 volts).
