I use ALT-keys. I simply have a Post-It note with the combos for the 3
or 4 exotic symbols I use often ° © µ .

Easy. 1. Get a Mac, a machine that was made for typesetting and gave
rise to desktop publishing.
2. The copyright and trademark symbols are available on the standards
keyboard. Type Option-G for copyright © and Option-R for registered ®.
3. Enjoy.

actually, it's lower case option-g and r. option- upper case g and r
results in › and ”.

3. Enjoy.
