Huge thing, can't imagine somebody would really walk
around huge distances with that thing hanging around the
hips.

Best comment: "Also carries medium-sized watermelons."

Forgot to mention, this thing can easily pull down your
trousers ;-)

I have a camera bag which I use for the D750 + 24mm~70mm lens, also a
flash, lens wipes etc. Its about the same size as the top section of
said holster. I have a problem if, as I occasionally do, I want to
wander around with with the D750 + 70mm~200mm f/2.8 lens as I have no
compact bag to carry it in. The Think Tank holster interests me as it
may be the answer to my problem.

As for walking huge distances with it: I try to avoid walking huge
distances with any collection of gear.

Can't see the point. I'd use a suitable small-ish backpack if I didn't
need to be ready to shoot, and a diagonal strap carrying it in the same
position, with lens hood on and lens cap off if I wanted to be ready.

Had a girlfriend like that years ago. Fantastic!

I just bought a Cotton Carrier G3 on the recommendation of a biologist
who does a lot of field work with a big telephoto and lots of other
gear. Love it! https://www.adorama.com/ccc686grey.html

I could see myself going for that if I was doing a lot of wildlife or
sports, especially with FF. Although I would probably want a monopod and
Arca connector in that case, is that compatible with the fitting?

I find with the X-T3, grip, and 100-400 with or without the 1.4TC that a
long strap worn diagonally over left shoulder with quick-detach clips,
one on the left hand side fitting and one on the bar on the bottom of
the grip works well. With the body just above the belt and lens hanging
more or less straight down. I can walk like that, but get the camera
switched on and to my eye in a second.

The size and shape is a bit similar to the standard case for a Canon
FL-mount 85-310 zoom, with camera mounted.

The case I'm looking for is to carry my 1200mm Canon FL lens, and Davis
& Sanford tripod with Majestic head. Roughly 40" of length and 60 pounds
of weight total.

You're not looking for a case; you're looking for a wheelbarrow. Got
something against modern carbon-fiber tripods? They can take a lot of
weight.
