Yeah, but flickr and pbase are not so convenient, because you have
to create an account there.

big deal.

There really is no need for the hassle of creating and maintaining
accounts in case you just want to share a bunch of images quickly.

Often I prefer sharing without any links to any
accounts and the hassle of usernames and passwords.

then link directly to where you stole them from, so that the creators
get credit.

Well, that's exactly what imgur used to do automatically (showing
links to the locations where the uploaded images were originally
found next to the uploaded images in an album), so that doesn't
detract from the idea of quick and convenient sharing.

If I search at google for images, it also links back to various
sites where it found those images, but it presents them in a
thumbnail overview independent of the way those images are
found at their respective location.

Besides, even if I upload images from disk rather than directly
via the url, anyone can easily source the image via google to
figure out who originally created or shared it or who deserves
credit for an image (if this even applies).

Though I also have a flickr account for sharing images in a more
persistent fashion.

hypocrite.

You're just utterly clueless about the reality of how information
is being shared online.
Just as clueless as those idiots from playboy who were seriously
suggesting they had the right to obtain ip addresses from the
millions of people who viewed a collection of their images on
imgur.
