Around 50 years ago they started saying that Rock 'n' Roll was dead.
In the last few years there have been increasingly more CD compilations (even more recently some DVDs) and specialist dealers, more guitar music books and DVD tutors and more "tribute bands" than would ever have been believed in a fictional book written in, say, the 1960s.
Kodak and Fuji (see
http://choose-film.com/) and Ilford continue to bring out more new films. I have hundreds cassettes of one of the defunct films (and one of the very best), Konica Minolta Centuria Chrome 100 in my freezer and expect it to have kept me supplied for in excess of five years of very active photography.
Leaving you with that thought, I'm of to play my Strat (1954 50 year Aniversary Edition).
Before I go, I've seen increasingly frequent reports of people who have tried digital, found it too much hassle, and gone back to film.
