I'd be a bit wary about the new D40 and D40x if I were you. The camera house
does not have a built-in autofocus motor, so that you can only get autofocus
with the relative handful of Nikon lenses...

digitals doesn't have a split image or microprism, you have to rely on

Is it still considered extreme wide angle on a 1.6 crop? I'd consider
a 12-24 tokina or a 10-22 EFS to be extreme wide angle, but i realise
35mm people think differently for FF.
