Yeap its the one i will get, thanks for all your thoughts and help

3" screen would have been nice and higher pixel view screen ie 230,000
but both those require more battery power so i can see why Ricoh
engineering left it off.....for now [R4?].

Should be a hot seller and a camera of the year in its class

This sounds a bit premature unless you have actually seen the camera
or you've read a review. I don't know of any on line reviews yet.
Lot's of cameras sound great at announcement but when the details come
out they often disappoint my high expectations.

You could easily know more about the R3 then I do. On the other hand
you could just be more impulsive then I am. It might turn out to be as
wonderful as the announcement makes it seem but I would like to get
more information and right now more information about the R3 is hard
to come by. The last I heard was that it might be in the UK mid
November.

I have gone to my local Jessops tried a Panasonic LX1 and (along with
Neat Image noise reduction program) it seems like a very nice camera.
Unfortunately, when it is turned off, the lens sticks out of the body,
making it bigger then I would prefer, however, it might be the better
of the two for me. I need more information to decide.

(also too bad it costs a bunch more as well)

PHOTOBLOG.COM have the first test on it, its a unique camera ATM i am
sure others will test it soon in the future

The only thing that is dissapointing is the lack of a/f assist lamp in
dark situations.

In Australia its already being sold [have not seen it yet] @AUS$599
which is less than the Panasonic FX9 [AUS$649] so its great value for
what your getting.

Maybe i need to wait for the R4? :-)

Cheers
