Type I vs type II CF Card readers
 
Is it possible to read type I CF Cards with type II Card readers, and vice versa?

A type II reader can read both.
Type I readers' slot won't handle the thicker type II card.

That's really the only significant difference...the thickness of the card.
-The actual pin size and configurations are identical.

The type II cards are thicker than the type 1 cards (about 1.5 mm
thicker), and a type II card won't go in the slot (if it is designed to
specs.) of a type I reader. Type II readers will read type I cards.
