FA: Nikon F5 USA body AS NEW

5 day listing

Thanks for looking.

Be honest: a second-hand Nikon product has no warranty. The warranty
does not transfer to the second or third owner.

Dishonest statement: "Comes in box with blank warranty paper(Nikon USA,
5 years)"

If you happen to be a Nikon USA dealer, the blank warranty is good;
but a used Nikon body does not have a warranty.

I don't see that as dishonest at all. It means that it IS a Nikon USA
product which
means that the buyer can PAY Nikon USA to fix it...they supposedly won't fix
a
non-Nikon USA product even if you do offer to pay. I think this is
something of
value to consider when buying used.

The "blank" warranty paperwork implies one is getting a 5-year
warranty.

If one were to take legal action against Nikon USA, one would probably
win. Could you 'picture' Toyota not providing parts in the US for a
automobile imported from Canada?

If the Nikon F5 body requires repair, the added cost of shipping to
Japan for service is one option: the 'warranty' repair might be less
than the minimum Nikon USA would charge for checking the camera and any
repair.

At least Japan is still part of the world that goes with the world-wide
Nikon warranty: it seems the United States is no longer part of the
world.

I don't think there is anything misleading about the ad. There's always a
news group cop on the scene!

My post was not directed at you! It was for George who was complaining that
the ad was dishonest.
