It survived launching. It survived two years in space. What else do
you want?

A landing? I'd blame the lack of budget to make that happen on the $200B
squandered on the biggest astronomical white elephant of all time, the ISS,
but Rosetta was European.

Well, the ISS will walk the path in pieces or as a whole of the Skylab
and Mir and if I was a betting man thenI would bet that it will be
spectacular.

It was launched in 2004 so that means it was in space 13+ years

It was fun getting the taste of being a part of the inner circle for a
while, right? :-))

it had also deployed its solar panels & other stuff which meant it was in zero-g
configuration, not launch configuration, and had never been designed with landing gear.
For RichA to whine about it not surviving a 2mph (3ft/sec) collision would be like him to
drop himself headfirst onto a concrete floor, nose down, and not get a bloody nose.
