To defend Apple in any way, shape or form over this is pathetic - or

i'm not defending anyone. what happened sucks but it's no different
than any other company.

No. In the face of their crap you defend them.

Pointing out the follies of other co's has nothing to do with Apple.

it shows just how much of a double standard people have.

No - you're just playing spin doctor just like Apple's PR folks.

when other companies do similar stuff, nobody gives a ****. when it's
apple, everyone is in a tizzy.

The sole issue here is Apple.

Apple arrogantly ignored clients who bought MBP's with a latent defect
and that is all that this thread is about.

they did no such thing. they fixed every system brought back to them.

for those within warranty it was fixed for free and for those outside
of warranty users had to pay, which is standard for any company and any
warranty.

it did take time to identify the issue and put in place a repair

It was identified quite early and all Apple did was charge for an
identified latent defect. The issue is Apple not admitting to the
latent defect which was clear enough to everyone else.
